Jakks Pacific continues licensing deal with partner Disney China.
Jakks Pacific has announced a multi-year licensing deal which maintains its partnership in China with Disney Consumer Products and Interactive Media.
As a result of this licensing deal, the market can expect the launch of new merchandise from a variety of Disney-related toy lines, including Disney Princess, Disney Frozen, Disney Moana, and Beauty and the Beast. In all, the deal covers over 50 of Disney’s entertainment properties.
Furthermore, the deal covers dress-up, role-play, costumes, masks, accessories, and Disney Tsum Tsum collectibles, action figures, and ride-on vehicles.
Stephen Berman, CEO of Jakks Pacific, said in a statement that the company is delighted about continuing its relationship with Disney China. Jakks Pacific strategically opened its offices in various areas of China and he noted that the company has grown to support key licensing opportunities, such as this one.
Moreover, this expansion allows the company to expand its distribution channels, sell directly to retail, and focus on expanding online sales in an effort to gain marketshare in this expanding market, according to Berman.
