Nes Classic Mini

Nintendo surprises the Internet with a mini version of Nintendo Entertainment System.

The Internet went abuzz with the announcement of the NES Classic edition based on its first major videogame system released almost 30 years ago. It made our best toys 2021 list. The console will be palm-sized so that it can fit in the palm of your hand. The system certainly will bring a strong sense of nostalgia for die-hard gamers who have played the original Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) home console.

The system will feature 30 top hits and will retail for an affordable $60 MSRP. It is expected to be released this November – just in time for the holidays. Unfortunately, beyond the pre-installed games, you won’t be able to download additional games as the cartridge slot doesn’t open. It is merely for aesthetics. The system also won’t be able to connect to the Internet and download games.

The game lineup featured delivers a diverse mix of popular and recognizable NES games appealing to a wide array of gamers. Everyone should be able to discover several great games to enjoy in this assortment. Here is a full listing of the included games:

1) Super Mario Bros. 3
2) Super Mario Bros.
3) Super Mario Bros. 2
4) Donkey Kong
5) Donkey Kong Jr.
6) Pac-Man
7) The Legend of Zelda
8) The Legend of Zelda II: The Adventure of Link
9) Metroid
10) Mega Man 2
11) Castlevania
12) Castlevania II: Simon’s Quest
13) Punch-Out!!
14) Tecmo Bowl
14) Excitebike
15) Ninja Gaiden
16) Super C
17) Tecmo Bowl
18) Kid Icarus
19) Final Fantasy
20) Galga
21) Gradius
22) Double Dragon II: The Revenge
23) Ghosts ‘n Goblins
24) Mario Bros.
25) Dr. Mario
26) StarTropics
27) Bubble Bobble
28) Ice Climber
29) Balloon Fight

Apparently, this system is not intended for video game enthusiasts. Instead Nintendo is attempting to tap into the market of older fans who fondly remember their experiences with Super Mario Bros. and The Legend of Zelda and hope they pick it up to simply relive their childhoods or play the games with their children. This is a great collector’s item or gift for old-school gamers and based on the internet’s reaction it’s expected to be in high demand this holiday.
