MGA Entertainment announced new brothers for their popular L.O.L. Surprise Doll line – Punk Boi and Lil Punk Boi.
This year at the North American International Toy Fair in New York City, more than 25,000 professionals flocked to discover the must-have toy of 2018. Thousands of toy companies had their latest and greatest toys on display. With seven football fields worth of toys, games, and playthings packing the Jacob Javits Center, there were hundreds of thousands of exciting new toys vying for your attention. The $21 billion dollar toy industry grew one percent last year, according to the NPD Group.
MGA Entertainment, the company behind the best-selling L.O.L. Surprise Doll assortment, debuted the new brother siblings for these hot collectibles. The new boys are known as Punk Boi and Lil Punk Boi and they are the newest additions to the family. According to MGA Entertainment, these new boy toys are ‘anatomically correct’. These new boys are welcome new additions to the Rock Club clan and they are the first boys in the family.
According to an MGA spokesperson, Punk Boi is anatomically correct, but the younger sibling dolls are not. The existing L.O.L. Surprise! Dolls cry, spit, tinkle and change color, and we reported last month that the L.O.L. Surprise! Doll Assortment was the number one selling toy in the toy industry, dominating the sales charts of major retailers like Amazon. The new Punk Boi doll has a tinkle feature “through a feature suggestive of boy parts,” according to a spokesperson. In addition, Punk Boi will also feature color-changing hair.
But this question remains: Will the new Punk Boi and Lil Punk Boi brothers experience the same success as the originals and be the must-have toy of Holiday 2018?
