It’s BB-8 like you have never seen him before. Life sized!
Star Wars: The Force Awakens raked in nearly $2 billion in box office sales, making it one of the biggest and most successful movies of all-time. BB-8, the droid that captured our hearts and spawned a popular BB-8 app-controlled droid from Sphero, is now being released in a life-sized version. Star Wars fans can make their dreams a reality. When the toy is released in the fall, Star Wars fans are going to want to put it on their Christmas toy list 2021.
Hasbro also had a larger BB-8. Spin Master is creating this new life-sized remote-controlled BB-8. Apparently, the toy has not yet been officially confirmed by Spin Master. The droid is expected to stand about 19-inches tall with antenna.
For Star Wars film buffs, that’s approximately 7-inches shorter than the BB-8 that starred in the motion picture. Interestingly, this model is 7-inches taller than Hasbro’s BB-8 model.
Spin Master has a prior Star Wars history. In fact, last year the company created an X-Wing drone and a Millennium Falcon drone.
This life-sized BB-8 robot will be controlled via remote control. It is expected to respond to voice commands, move its head and feature sound effects from the movie. Expect it to be priced around $180 and be released sometime before the holiday shopping season. We expect this to be popular among die-hard Star Wars fans and collectors.
