In 2018, LEGO is celebrating its 60th anniversary, so LEGO is offering some special sets for fans to commemorate this grand occasion. Lego Star Wars was the first Lego theme that Lego ever created. Lego has been making Star Wars sets forever, but these last couple months have been epic with the new Star Wars movies. From a large scale Millennium Falcon based on the Hans Solo movie to Yoda’s Hut, these Star Wars Lego sets will get any Lego Star Wars fan excited.

Lego Harry Potter Sets
When Lego first unveiled the Harry Potter line of Legos in 2001, it was a global sensation. Now Lego is revisiting the world of Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts with brand new Lego sets. It’s the first time Lego has had Harry Potter in many years. At Toy Fair 2018, Lego unveiled the coolest Harry Potter set – Hogwarts Great Hall. Additional Harry Potter sets will be unveiled later this year.

The first thing fans will notice is that the 2018 edition of The Harry Potter Hogwarts Great Hall is significantly more detailed both on the inside and outside compared with the 2010 version. The piece count is down from 1290 to 878, as unnecessary structures have been removed, but it has a much better overall look. Also, the price will be lower and friendlier on the pocket with the 2018 version – $129.99 versus $99.99. Although there will be other Hogwarts sets announced later in the year, this is the standout set in the line. Look for it to hit retailers this August.

Overall, it’s a really solid mech and sets the new standard by which others should be compared. The Batman figure comes with a jet pack with boosters. There is also a Batman figure donning the Rebirth Batsuit. In all, five minifigures are included with this set.

Who doesn’t love Ninjas? Ninjago is back in 2018. The Ninjas will go on new ninja stories with these great Lego sets.

If you already own the LEGO Boost set, the Stormbringer is a super cool add-on set for LEGO Boost. It requires the original LEGO Boost base kit for cool lizard-like motion. The feet and tail will move and it will feature a sensor in the seat as well as missile launchers in the mouth. This set includes three minifigures as well as two Boost figures.

Based on events in Sons of Garmadon series, Temple of Resurrection features architecture and styling that will be familiar to long-time fans. A cool feature is that this set features a couple of trap doors for creative play. The windows can even be spun around for cool effect. The best part? The Temple features a cool transformation that will reveal Garmadon. This set includes eight Lego minifigures.
The Ninja Nightcrawler is based on the TV series. It is actually a lot larger than you would expect based on the pictures. It features a muscular racing-type look. Overall, the build quality is very good and it feels sturdy. The wheels are made of rubber and as you roll them and push down on the top of the vehicle, you can fire the studs. It features a spacious cockpit, seating one driver. The set is not particularly difficult to assemble. Set comes with three minifigures and a small motorbike. Kids will really enjoy having this set.

It comes with three mini dolls – Olivia, Emma, and Andrea as well as three animal friends to play out your incredible adventures. The Friendship House is actually a converted Fire Station, so it still features a brick fascade and alarm outside. The translucent garage door really opens and closes. There’s even an outdoor garden area, Upper Foreman’s Terrace above the garage, barbeque area with slide, and a rooftop area with hottub. The working pully is great for bringing up supplies and there’s even a fireman’s pole for the mini dolls to slide down. The set is easy to build and kids will have all sorts of fun building and playing out various stories for the characters and their animal friends. The set also includes a raft seating two mini dolls. There’s even a sleeper section with two beds for your mini dolls after a long day of adventuring. There’s plenty of detailing inside with a stove, sink, fridge, and more. It’s definitely a nice place to be and there’s plenty of play space for imaginative story-telling.

(Available 1/1/2018)The LEGO City Mountain Police Headquarters is the main core set for this series for 2018. It’s a police station built atop a mountain. There’s even a large garage paved under the police station. There’s also the main police station and holding cell. There’s a functional turret that helps with imaginative play. A really cool feature is that the jail bars can be broken off so the prisoner can escape. The police station has a nice lookout area. There’s a good amount of detail inside the police station and a cave beneath the holding cell featuring fun action for the cougar. The set comes with 7 minifigures, a police vehicle, motorbike, and two helicopters.
Lego Jurassic World Sets
Lego unveiled a new line of Legos based of Jurassic World. These sets are coming out ahead of the movie in April. These sets have great little details and interactive features from the movie. Some of them were first unveiled at Toy Fair 2018.

Bring your imagination to life this April.

The set features a farm, pen, and the main farm cottage. Like other LEGO Minecraft sets, you can reconfigure the set to change up the look and feel of it – which adds to the overall play value. This set comes with Steve, Alex, a skeleton, and several smaller minifigures.

(Available 1/1/2018)Meet the King of the Road – the LEGO Technic Mack Anthem. This is a 2-in-1 set that builds a massive big rig truck or a garbage truck. What’s cool? The trailer truck looks awesome and is incredibly detailed with a Hand of God steering system as well as a working cockpit steering wheel. How cool is that?! Pop the hood to reveal the engine details. The two rear axles are connected to the drivetrain, which drives pistons in the engine. The doors open to reveal a simplified interior. Finally, there’s a fifth wheel that can pivot up/down and features a simple manual lock for the trailer.

(Available 1/1/2018)The LEGO Technic Racing Yacht is an impressive 2-in-1 set that many fans have been looking forward to for a while. It features a bright color scheme and looks very interesting indeed. It has a rather interesting pivoting action steering wheel. What’s cool? You can even steer the steering wheel and it all feel very smooth. The two winches actually are functional. Overall, the lines, colors, and mechanisms all look and feel great. There’s a great amount of detail, given that the set only uses 330 pieces in the build.

From a distance it looks quite realistic and what’s great is that it doesn’t occupy too much space. The cap and cork is exquisitely designed and great to look at. As for the ship, it features a nice build. It’s surprisingly sturdy and dense considering its size. Decide whether you want the boat inside or outside of the bottle beforehand, as it’s not so easy to remove once it’s inside the bottle.

LEGO Juniors Jurassic World Pteranodon Escape 10756Ages 4+(Pieces: 84)
(Available 4/1/2018)The LEGO Juniors Jurassic World Pteranodon Escape set is similar to the 2015 Pteranodon Capture set. Piece count drops from 174 to 84. The new helicopter is smaller but now features four rotors versus two rotors. There are also two new set pieces based on the scene from the exploding volcano and two ACU Trooper minifigures included in the set to enhance kids’ play experience. The set now features a lower price point at $19.99 versus the 2015 set which retailed for $24.99.
LEGO Juniors Jurassic World Raptor Rescue Truck 10757Ages 4+(Pieces: 85)
(Available 4/1/2018)Young LEGO fans (4 and older) can jump into the fun of Jurassic World with Raptor Rescue Truck. The set bears a striking resemblance to the 2015 Dilophosaurus Ambush set. The set builds a different vehicle, Velociraptor, and includes two minifigures – an ACU trooper and Owen. The figures feature improved detailing and an overall better look. The price has come down to $24.99, $5 less than the 2015 model set. Since less pieces are used (85), the level of detailing in the vehicle is not as impressive as the jeep from the 2015 model, which used 248 pieces.
