Lego Sets Shown At 2016 Nuremberg Toy Fair

New Lego sets for 2016 have been unveiled at the 2016 Nuremberg Toy Fair in Germany.

Creating your 2021 hot toy list?  Earlier Lego revealed Lego sets at the London Toy Fair, now new Lego sets for 2016 have been unveiled at the 2016 Nuremberg Toy Fair in Germany. Lego showed off a wide array of Lego sets from Star Wars and Disney Princess to Mixels and Angry Birds. A strong use of franchise tie-in sets was evident again at this year’s Toy Fair. Some of the new franchises include Lego The Angry Birds Movie, Lego Super Heroes Mighty Micros, and Lego Mixels Series 7, Series 8, and Series 9.

Lego The Angry Birds Movie

The new LEGO The Angry Birds Movie sets will tie-in with the Angry Birds Movie in theaters. Some of the sets will feature videogame play mechanics where you can launch your bird in a trajectory just as in the mobile games.

LEGO Mixels

LEGO Mixels, based on a Cartoon Network show of the same name, are collectible characters that can be combined to make fantasy creations. This year Series 7, 8, and 9 will attempt to recreate the success with last year’s release of Series 4, 5, and 6.

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Mighty Micros

The Mighty Micros are a new budget line to the Marvel Super Heroes product line. These sets will support other Marvel and DC Comics franchises this year.

LEGO Nexo Knights

The LEGO Nexo Knights is expected to be released in the latter half of 2016. The sets work with an app featuring animations of the characters.

LEGO Star Wars

LEGO Star Wars sets based on The Force Awakens were also on display at the show. None of these products could be filmed at the Nuremberg Toy Fair. It could be that Lego is keeping some surprises for the New York Toy Fair.

LEGO City

There were two new additions to the Lego City line – Lego City Airport and Lego City Volcano Explorers. What Lego City can be without an airport? This is a great new addition to the classic Lego line. Volcano Explorers blends realistic models with a volcano and mining theme.

LEGO Technic

The event showcased impressive new Lego Technic sets with articulated models. Some of these newer sets are super cool but a bit more challenging to build. There was even a LEGO Technic Porsche 911 prototype kit that debut at the German Toy Fair. The black and white car model looks fantastic with a swirly camouflage design. Pricing and availability were not available but expect to pay no less than $100.

LEGO Friends

New additions to the LEGO Friends product line are theme park sets. A really impressive set was one with a fully functional roller coaster.

LEGO Elves

LEGO Elves sets introduce new sets based on a universe of fantasy characters and worlds.

LEGO Disney Princess

New sets were on display at the event centering around the Disney Princess franchise tie-in. One particular set to look out for is the one based on Disney’s Beauty and the Beast. Belle’s Enchanted Castle 41067 was another highlight from this product line.
