New LEGO Sets Unveiled At London Toy Fair 2016

Lego unveils new Lego sets at London Toy Fair 2016.

The London Toy Fair unveiled the new LEGO sets for 2016 before the Nuremberg and New York Toy Fair. According to reports, attendees were not permitted to photograph nor film the new Lego sets but we have the full scoop on the latest and greatest LEGO sets from LEGO Star Wars and LEGO Friends to LEGO Marvel Super Heroes and LEGO DC Comics to LEGO City, LEGO Ninjago, LEGO Minifigures, and more. This collection represents the hot ticket LEGO sets for 2016.

The Toy Fair 2016 took place in west London, England on January 24, 2016.

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes

With Captain America: Civil War and Doctor Strange movies set to release this year, expect new Marvel Lego sets to be released based on these popular Marvel properties. The Web Warriors Bridge Duel – a New York scene with taxis and other vehicles falling through a hole in the bridge – appears to be a standout.
LEGO DC Comics

Some of the highlights from the DC Comics world included Scarecrow’s Harvest of Fear and Killer Croc’s Sewer Smash.

LEGO Star Wars

Last year the Lego Star Wars sets were some of the most popular toys for Christmas. This year there was less secrecy surrounding the LEGO Star Wars sets. Last year, Star Wars: The Force Awakens toys were kept under wraps until the film’s late year release. Here are some of the highlights for LEGO Star Wars: Eclipse Fighter, Star Scavenger, and Encounter on Jakku. Encounter on Jakku will feature a mini LEGO BB-8 figure. Other highlights include Resistance X-Wing Fighter, Darth Vader’s Tie Advanced, and the top of the line sets are Clone Turbo Tank and Captain REX’s AT-TE Walker.

LEGO City

This year the prevailing LEGO City themes focus on airports and volcanoes. Featured LEGO City sets include Airport Starter, Cargo Plane, and VIP Service. The Passenger Terminal and Airshow looks quite impressive indeed.

There was also a presence of a Volcano Explorers theme. The Volcano Research Base is a massive set rigged with exploding functionality and vehicles included.

LEGO Friends

The new LEGO Friends sets of 2016 offer more poseable minifgures than ever before. The horse and riding sets were among the most interesting of these sets. Another impressive set is the Roller Coaster amusement park-themed set.

LEGO Elves

In 2016, LEGO Elves will be expanding its lineup with new fantastical sets, such as Precious Crystal Mine, Queen Dragon’s Rescue, Dragon Sanctuary, and Ragana’s Magic Shadow Castle.

LEGO Disney Princess

Belle’s Enchanted Castle was a standout at the Toy Fair for the LEGO Disney Princess line of LEGO building sets.

LEGO Nexo Knights

The LEGO Nexo Knights line launched earlier this year and will expand with a new lineup of sets.

LEGO Ninjago

One of the spotlights for the LEGO Ninjago line was the Stealth Raider 2.0 set. This high end set includes a vehicle that separates into different pieces.

LEGO Technic

The LEGO Technic line is ideal for younger builders who seek a bigger challenge. These sets are generally pricier and offer greater building complexity. Some of the highlights in this line include: Ultramotive, Volvo EW, Class Xerion 5000 Trac, and Bucket Wheel Excavator.

LEGO Minifigures

LEGO fans can expect a new series of minifigures to be released this year.
