Look for books that teach introductory learning topics like colors and numbers. Anything with cute characters is sure to be hit.

Humor
Who doesn’t love silly stories that make you laugh?
The Wonky Donkey is a best-selling, highly-rated, and silly story of an endearing donkey with three legs. Although it’s intended to be silly fun, it may be a bit controversial to some. Some people may be offended by this story since the donkey is called wonkey for having only 3 legs and an artificial limb. Also a bird pecks the eye of the donkey so it’s called winky. Some kids crack up at the story and feel it’s happy and silly, while others feel sad for the donkey. Some parents feel it reinforces making fun of and laughing at people with disabilities and the pictures may be scary for some little ones. With that said, you can decide whether this book is suitable for your child. It really all depends on your personal comfort level and sensitivity levels. There’s even a companion The Wonky Donkey song you can download and enjoy that was awarded 2008 APRA Children’s Song of the Year.
