Nintendo announced the return of a popular bundle with the 2DS and a Mario game coming this August 2017.

You’re in luck because Nintendo recently announced it is bringing back a fan-favorite Nintendo 2DS bundled with New Super Mario Bros. 2. The 2DS is a great entry-level portable gaming system from Nintendo. The best part? It’s now starting at only $79.99 and it plays both DS and 3DS games. So now you can play all your favorite Nintendo games at a more affordable price point. This is perfect for gamers just getting into their first gaming experience or for those who want a budget-priced portable system. It also makes for a great Christmas gift idea for the gamer in your life. Whatever the case may be, the new 2DS bundle launches this August 25, 2017 for $79.99.
What does the 2DS bundle come with? Well, it comes with a Nintendo 2DS Special Edition in white and red, New Super Mario Bros. 2 game is pre-installed on the system, and a 4 GB SD rounds out the bundle. The system offers dual screens but you don’t get the clamshell design of the 3DS XL. It’s a small tradeoff and, of course, the system plays all games in 2D. The 3D effect is reserved solely for the 3DS family of systems.
Previously, we had heard news from Nintendo that the original 3DS was discontinued and news of the New Nintendo 2DS XL. The 2DS remains a strong pillar of Nintendo’s hardware business so it’s not going away anytime soon.
