Mid-gameplay, Ratchet and Clank seamlessly and instantly travel through different dimensions — encountering new dangers and planets. The dimensional rifts are not just some gimmick — they’re central to the gameplay and only possible on next-gen. In addition to Ratchet and Clank, players can also choose to play as the new female character, Lombax.

Battlefield 2042Rated M

Set in the future, Battlefield 2042 is a futuristic first-person shooter that looks friggin’ cool with talking jets, tanks, and grapple hooks. Battlefield 2042 returns to a modern setting with a revamped class system revolving around specialists with unique gadgets. It has a huge range of character classes, maps, and weapons. Multiplayer offers support for up to 128 players on next-gen consoles. Massive multiplayer battles look phenomenal. The action looks over the top complete with Battlefield Moments and destructable environments. Battlefield 2042 boasts 2x as many soldiers on the battlefield than before, making it feel like you’re in a real war. Best of all, it has all the chaos fans know and love. Dynamic weather effects like tornadoes and sandstorms can impact the combat. While it’s disappointing that there’s no campaign, it’s a return to BF4 form with familiar features, weapons, and even futuristic twists on equipment and vehicles used in the real world. Its narrative is presented with live-service elements.

DeathloopRated M

Developed exclusively for PS5 by Arkane Lyon, Deathloop is a refreshingly unique game where two rival assassins are trapped in a mysterious timeloop on the island of blackreef, doomed to repeat the same day for eternity. To escape, can you successfully end the cycle by assassinating 8 key targets before the day resets? You’ll learn from your failures — trying new paths, gathering new intel, and discovering new weapons and abilities. The game combines excellent gunplay, stellar story, clever dialogue that translates into a fantastic experience. Optional multiplayer is icing on the cake. The game exploits its unusual structure brilliantly. While you may feel a bit confused initially, just stick with it, you can thank us later. It’s one of our favorite games this year certainly worth every penny.

The presentation and player animations heighten the authenticity of the game. Now you can play in realistic NBA and WNBA environments against authentic teams and players. It really feels like you’re there! The gameplay feels smooth thanks to a consistent frame rate. Overall, it’s a genuinely entertaining basketball experience with the latest roster updates and enhanced game modes. Madden NFL 22Rated E

Are you ready to take your team to the Superbowl? Nothing’s more fun than playing Madden with your buddies and talking a whole lot of trash. This year there’s Dynamic Gameday, Next Gen Stats Star-Driven AI, and Gameday Atmosphere — exclusive to the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions of Madden NFL 22 — that make it feel more like a real NFL game. Modes include: Exhibition, Franchise, and Madden Ultimate Team. Go long! Franchise Mode gets the most notable improvement this year after being mostly neglected. Although the bar isn’t especially high, Madden NFL 22 is the best recent game in the series; however, it’s disappointing to not see a bigger leap across the game on next-gen consoles. It looks and plays better than ever but the quality of the game modes continues to regress, and buggy gameplay make for a frustrating experience. Madden fails to convert the touchdown!

FIFA 22Rated E

FIFA returns to the streets with exciting street football action in a variety of locales. EA Sports has captured the authenticity of the game like never before. The game features several gameplay enhancements to make this the most realistic FIFA to date. Goalkeepers have greater composure, create and manage your custom club to glory and live out your football dreams in Career Mode, Volta has revamped gameplay, and feel the atmosphere with most immersive matchday experience yet. It has a new club creation experience in Career Mode and a FIFA Ultimate Team Heroes item set representing the tales of legendary players. While building on previous games, it creates the ultimate realization of the FIFA experience with the most realistic, responsive, and fluid gameplay yet.

Fun and fast with exceptional level design and quality of life improvements, it’s worth giving it a spin.

Resident Evil Village may not be groundbreaking but it delivers an engrossing combat-heavy experience reminiscent of RE4. Village unleashes a variety of baddies at players. Depth has been added to the crafting system. Overall, the game’s 10 hours of gameplay offer a rewarding journey. Wish the bosses required a bit more strategy and thinking. The puzzles are relatively straightforward — standard Resident Evil fare. After beating the game, you get access to Mercenaries – a high-speed survival horror mode with some good challenges. It packs the fast-paced action of RE4 but lacks the slow-burn scares of RE7.

Hitman IIIRated M

Hitman III is the best in the series and the most daring entry yet. If you own a PSVR headset, it’s worth diving into and experiencing its worlds in VR, even though it’s not exactly the best way to play. While it feels familiar and feels more like an expansion than a true sequel, it offers some of the series’ most surprising and imaginative levels ever. Each map stands out with a plethora of creative assassination opportunities, and they’re designed for replayability. Packed with thrilling assassination opportunities and equally awesome maps, it’s a killer conclusion to the trilogy that will satisfy die-hard fans of the series. With mature themes, violence, and gore, you can decide if your teen can play.

MLB The Show 21 delivers two game modes — sim mode and a beginner mode to introduce first-time players to the series. Casual mode is designed to ease you in to the game with a focus on learning the core mechanics of the game with brief tutorials. It’s a fun, pick-up and play mode for newbies. There’s a new rewarding pinpoint pitching mechanic for those who want more control over the game. If you have the skills, you can now see where your pitch will land. It’s hard to master but very rewarding. For the first time, you can take your ball player from Road to the Show to other game modes. Next-gen consoles feature a stadium creator that lets you build everything from a classic ballpark to a spacebound stadium. The game will also support online play with cross-platform support.

Far Cry 6 is political and a game about revolution. Players can still blow stuff up. The game features Giancarlo Esposito with full voice over and motion capture. DLC lets you play as one of the series’ infamous villains. The gameplay is inspired by the roguelite genre. With a gripping story, crazy weapons, and fighting chickens, fans are going to love it.

While it’s not based on the MCU nor the comics, it’s a fresh interpretation of the beloved Marvel series. Marvel fans have a lot to be excited about, as it’s like a playable version of the movies with the action, humor, and soundtrack. Square/Enix nailed the vibe with whimsical, wisecracking dialogue, frentic action sequences, and a soundtrack of hits featuring Iron Maiden, Rick Astley, Kiss, and Wham. Can you save the galaxy?

Although it’s relatively safe and lacks mining or crafting spins, Minecraft Dungeons is a fun and charming game with good replayability, plenty of loot, secret levels to discover, and increasingly difficult levels to unlock.
