The latest version of Monopoly is created just for people who love to cheat, headed to store shelves this Fall 2018.
There have been many different iterations of Monopoly over the years — including Monopoly Gamer last year — but we have never seen anything quite like this before. The newest version of Monopoly from Hasbro Gaming is called Cheaters Edition, designed for family members who love cheating.
The new Monopoly: Cheaters Edition incorporates modern day concepts like identity theft, escape artist, and shortchanging. The game is designed for players ages 8 and older.
With shortchanging, when you have to pay your dues, you can secretly choose to shortchange the recipient by giving them less money than you are supposed to. What’s cool is that if you get away with your evil little deed, you get rewarded in this game. However, if you get caught, you either have to pay up in full or risk going straight to jail in handcuffs. And, yes, the handcuffs are included as part of the game. What kind of sly things can you get away with?
Want more cheating antics? In addition to shortchanging, you can steal money from the bank or even move another player’s token if you are so daring. This version of the game doesn’t have a designated banker, so you can rob as much or as little as you want. After all, it’s all in the name of fun and games. Anyways … who said you have to play fair! It’s one of the coolest new twists on the game of Monopoly in a long time.
Wondering what the release date is for Monopoly: Cheaters Edition? Monopoly: Cheaters Edition is set to debut on store shelves this Fall 2018 for $19.99. So what do our readers think about the latest edition of Monopoly? Love it? Hate it? Sound off in the comments below. We’d love to hear what you think!
