Activision and Platinum unveil new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles video game, “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants in Manhattan.”
Who wouldn’t want to be their favorite Ninja Turtle?
The Turtles are coming out of the sewers and headed straight into a new video game. Because it was leaked before the actual announcement, most of us knew that Activision and Platinum Games were working on a new Turtles game. With a fantastic new trailer, now it is official and we have a name for the game.
With Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants in Manhattan, Activision has announced that it has partnered with Platinum Games to create a new game starring everyone’s favorite Turtles. The Turtles have starred in many videogames both good and bad. We love the NES and arcade games. From the trailer, Platinum Games is ready to take them to new heights with over the top action.
Platinum Games has already successfully brought another 80s cartoon to life and is hoping to the same with the Turtles. The brawler is designed from the same team that created Transformers: Devastation, which we thought was one of the best PS4 games for kids and best Xbox One games for kids .
Transformers: Devastation was a blast combining great gameplay, action, and story. For the new Turtles game, the art style and gameplay looks familiar to anyone who has played the latest Transformers game. From the trailer, it looks like the combat flows like butter and is completely customizable. Now can we get a new Power Rangers game please?
Fans of the comic book will love the visuals of the new game. Platinum Games was actually inspired by Mateus Santolouco, who does the art in TMNT comics. Featuring lovely cel shaded graphics, the story is being written by Tom Waltz, the author of the TV series.
Shredder and his footclan attempt to take the city of Manhattan by force. The Turtles will have to defend the city against some of the most memorable enemies including Bebop, Rocksteady, and Shredder. The memorable boss fights really bring the characters to life with unique maneuvers and weapons. It’s up to the Turtles to stop them. The Turtles will have to be on their feet for the changing dynamics.
Before we play, we get to select our favorite Ninja Turtle. We love Leonardo and his katanas, but we also love Michael Angelo and his nunchucks. Donnie and Rafael aren’t that bad either. We love them all and the hardest part is choosing.
All of the Turtles have their own fighting style and moves. Kids can play through the single player mode or play online with up to 3 friends. Oddly, local multiplayer mode was not announced.
The game will come out in the summer on PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360, and PC. This might be the Turtles games that kids have always wanted. After seeing the trailer, we can’t stop drooling.
Who is your favorite Turtle? Let us know in the comments.
