Batman Animated Toy Line Expands in 2016

DC Collectibles announce Batman animated series collectible toy line at Toy Fair 2016.

According to USA Today, The Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice will spawn some excellent toys on store shelves this year. DC Collectibles is also bringing an expanded line of high-end action figures based on the Batman animated cartoons from the past. Fans of Batman might just want to put these on their 2021 holiday toy list. In fact, there will be a new assortment of toys based on Batman: The Animated Series, The New Batman Adventures, and Batman Beyond.

Batman: The Animated Series

Batman fans can expect 6-inch versions of Anti-fire Suit Batman, The Joker, Scarface, Harley Quinn, Firefly, Harvey Bullock, and Talia al Ghul. These figures are due for release in September, retailing for around $28. There will also be an oversized Clayface for around $40. The real highlight of this line is the huge Batwing, expected to be released in October for $100, featuring lighted headlights, brakes and engine.

The New Batman Adventures

The New Batman Adventures created inspiration for a “Girl’s Night Out” pack with Poison Ivy, Batgirl, Supergirl, Harley Quinn, and Livewire. This is expected to be released sometime around September for $80. A Tales of the Dark Knight set with Batman, Carrie Kelley Robin, and Mutant Leader. This set is set to debut in October for $70.

Batman Beyond

A 3-pack featuring Bruce Wayne, Batman and Ace the Bat-Hound will be available in January 2017 for $50. In December, a version of The Joker with a Santa hat, Christmas tree and candy canes will be released.

Kevin Kiniry, VP of creative services at DC Entertainment, has stated that our popular Batman: The Animated Series line strikes a nostalgic chord with fans and it is exciting to see the positive reception. Look for these new Batman toys to appear on store shelves later this year and in early 2017.
