Crayola retires Dandelion crayon color on National Crayon Day.
On National Crayon Day, Crayola announced that it is officially retiring its iconic Dandelion color from crayon boxes around the world.
Apparently, the Dandelion color will be treated to one last hurrah with a retirement tour around the country. Crayola announced that the Dandelion color will be replaced by a new blue color.
Melanie Boulden, SVP of US and global marketing at Crayola, stated they are excited to share what color will be next in line as they celebrate National Crayon Day and the remarkable run of Dandelion.
Crayola announced it will be unveiling a new shade of blue to the world and fans will play a part of history in naming the new shade of blue.
On National Crayon Day, March 31, 2017, in Times Square New York, a massive 25-foot crayon box and coloring mural celebrated the grand occasion.
Smith Holland, President and CEO of Crayola, stated Crayola’s DNA rests in color, creativity, and fun with a mission to inspire creativity in children of all ages.
Holland mentioned that Crayola is thrilled to celebrate National Crayon Day and share a one-of-a-kind creative experience with its fans around the world.
