Little Tikes issues toy recall for popular swing set, 2-in-1 Snug ‘n Secure Pink Swing, affecting 540,000 units.
Little Tikes issued a voluntary toy recall for its popular 2-in-1 Snug ‘n Secure Pink Swing in cooperation with the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). This toy recall impacts nearly 540,000 swing sets manufactured between November 2009 – December 2013. According to Little Tikes, the pink version of this swing may crack or break, causing a potential fall hazard for children.
Little Tikes has received roughly 140 reports of incidents involving the pink swing breaking, with 39 cases of it causing various injuries to children, including abrasions, bruises, cuts, and bumps to the head and 2 children reported with broken arms.
The model number of the impacted swing set is 615573 with UPC 0-50743-61557-3 for the Little Tikes 2-in-1 Snug ‘n Secure Pink Swing in question. The model number can be found molded on the back of the swing seat. In addition, the manufactured date code stamp, also located on the back of the seat, can help easily determine whether you are impacted by this recall. If the inner arrow of the manufacturer’s date stamp points to “10”, “11”, “12”, or “13”, then you are impacted by this toy recall. Additionally, if the swing’s inner date points to “09” and “43” or higher on the outer ring of numbers, then you are also included in the recall. As of this time, no other swings or colors are impacted by this recall.
The 2-in-1 Snug ‘n Secure Pink Swing from Little Tikes was sold nationally at retail stores, like Walmart and Toys R Us and other online channels, including Little Tikes’ online website. The product was sold from November 2009 – May 2014.
