Toy Fair 2016 is here! Every year, toy companies from all over the world show off their toys at the New York Toy Fair. We get an early look at toys that will come out later this year. Needless to say, it is one of the most exciting times in the industry. It’s like the largest toy store ever.
The 113th Toy Fair is over and held plenty of surprises when the doors opened in New York City at the Javits Convention center. Over 30,000 visitors were in attendance over the course of 4 days. We compiled a list of our favorite toys, reveals, and demonstrations from the show. These are the toys that are going to make your kids smile later this year. We’re putting all of the coolest toys we saw at Toy Fair 2016 in one place. Many of these toys will make our top toys for Christmas 2021 list.

WowWee Chip AI Dog
Ages 6+(Available: Fall 2016)
This dog stole our hearts and is our toy of the show. Meet CHIP everybody. That stands for Canine Home Intelligence Pet. CHIP might be the ultimate robotic dog. This artificially intelligent dog adapts as you interact with him. He recognizes you, responds to commands, plays fetch, and makes nice little happy dog noises. You can do almost everything with him that you can do with a real pup. He’s the playful pup that you never have to clean up after.
Fisher Price Think & Learn Code A Pillar
Ages 3-8(Available: Fall 2016)
Forget 123s and abcs, even preschoolers can learn critical thinking and problem solving skills with this friendly caterpillar. This caterpillar comes with 8 different segments and a motorized head. Each body part contains a direction on it. By putting the caterpillar together in different ways, kids can make the caterpillar perform different commands in the sequence.
DC Super Hero Girls
Ages 6+(Available: Spring 2016)
Girls have always wanted super heroes but there were not many available. This line celebrates all of the coolest female superheroes like Batgirl, Wonder Woman, and Supergirl as high schoolers. They are going to need their superhero powers to survive.
Barbie Fashionista Line
Ages 3+(Available: Fall 2016)
It’s the biggest news in Barbie’s history. This year we are getting 3 new body types: petite, tall, and curvy. Additionally, the dolls come in seven skin tones and 24 different hair styles. With so many different ethnicities, hair styles, and body types, girls will finally be able to get a Barbie doll that looks like them or their friends.
Hello Barbie Dreamhouse
Ages 8+(Available: Fall 2016)
Barbie is getting a completely new Smart Home Dreamhouse in 2016. This Wi Fi Dreamhouse pairs with an app, allowing kids to talk to it to perform voice activated commands. You can put Barbie in the elevator and tell the house to lower the elevator. Why does Barbie have to get all the cool stuff first?
Monster High Peri & Pearl Serpentine
Ages 6-15(Available: Spring 2016)
Introduced in the new Great Scarier Reef movie, this is Peri & Pearl Serpentine. She is the daughter of Hydra. Like the other dolls in the line, she looks like a mermaid. The coolest part? This is the world’s first 2 headed Monster High doll. They say these sisters are closer than any other sisters, which means they argue all the time.
Monster High Minis
Ages 6-15(Available: Fall 2016)
What happens when you shrink the Monster High dolls? You get these Monster cute minis. The coolest part? They come in blind packs which are shaped like coffins. Open the coffin to reveal the dolls.
Minecraft Radio Controlled Ghast
Ages 10+(Available: Fall 2016)
We love the Minecraft and the characters in the game. Forget drones! What could be cooler than a radio controlled flying Ghast? It comes with a block shaped remote control. Just don’t look straight into its eyes.
My Mini MixieQs

The hottest new collectibles are here. Could anything be cuter? Incredibly tiny and adorably cute, My Mini MixieQs features mini characters with tons of personality. The coolest part? They come with swappable head pieces and outfits.
Barbie Starlight RC Hoverboard
Ages 8+(Available: Fall 2016)
Forget Barbie’s pink convertible. Barbie has a new way to get around. It seems like everyone is riding drones and hoverboards these days so naturally Barbie is hopping on. This tiny drone will have kids flying Barbie around, dressed in a futuristic outfit.
Nerf N-Strike Elite Hyper-Fire Blaster
Ages 8+(Available: Fall 2016)
If you want to unload a barrage of foam darts at your opponents, you will love the Elite Hyper Fire Blaster, which is powered by 4 “D” batteries. It is billed as the fastest Nerf gun ever, firing 5 darts per second. Don’t squeeze the trigger too long or you will empty 25 darts in under 6 seconds.
Nerf Rival Khaos MXVI-4000 Blaster
Ages 14+(Available: Fall 2016)
Last year, Nerf debuted the Nerf Rival line for teens. The blasters in this line fire foam dart balls at 70MPH. In 2016, it is all about the Khaos blaster. Using 6 “D” batteries, this is the world’s first fully automatic in the Rival line, firing 40 rounds in 11 seconds. For opponents, that’s enough to cause real chaos!
Nerf Mega Mastodon Blaster

There is a reason this Nerf gun is named after a dinosaur. Using 6 “D” sized batteries, this thing has the power and size of a dinosaur. With this first ever motorized Mega blaster, you’ll finally be able to fire off over sized Mega darts as soon as you pull the trigger. It’s such a beast that you will need the shoulder strap for carrying it around in battle.
Life-sized BB-8 Droid
Ages 8+(Available: Fall 2016)
We want this now. It’s a life size 16 inch version of BB-8 from Spin Master. BB-8 rolls around, as you control him with a remote or even your voice. The coolest part? He looks at you when you talk to him. He can even follow you around, just like in the movie.
Code Gamer
Ages 10+(Available: Fall 2016)
What if you could learn to code by playing video games? This kit from Thames & Kosmos includes a Bluetooth gamepad controller that connects to a tablet. The controller is equipped with 4 sensors that communicate with the video game app. As players make their way past the levels, they learn the basics of Arduino coding.
Geckobot
Ages 8+(Available: Fall 2016)
This buildable robot from Thames & Kosmos climbs vertical walls. How awesome is that? Kids build a suction system inside the robot using small gears , pressure valves, and cams. Kids are learning about physics while they are building and having fun.
ThingMaker
Ages 13+(Available: Fall 2016)
With ThingMaker kids can make their own toys at home. Kids can make everything from an insect to a knight. Kids simply use the app to drag and drop different body parts. When they are done, they hit print on the app. Toys will print in as few as 30 minutes to few hours for more complex toys with many colors. Who needs the toy store?
Uncle Milton’s Virtual Explorer
Ages 8+(Available: Fall 2016)
Uncle Milton is giving kids a chance to try out virtual reality, with this projector that puts you in outer space. The kit comes with virtual reality goggles that work with a smart phone. Put on the goggles and you will see hundreds of stars and constellations all around you.
Cabbage Patch Kid
Ages 3+(Available: Fall 2016)
With a hi tech make over, Cabbage Patch Kids have never felt more alive. Kids can feed her, pick her up, change her, and play games with her. With expressive LCD eyes, she talks, giggles and coos just like a real baby. The coolest part? There is an app which gives you animated feedback as kids earn “Baby Points.” Luckily, she doesn’t cry all night.

This is no ordinary selfie stick. It has a mic on the end. You can do karaoke and create your own music videos at home. It will have downloadable music of popular songs. The entire family from little ones to grandpa will enjoy playing with this.

Who doesn’t love pet dragons? This adorable soft and cuddly friend comes to life with 50 different sounds and phrases. The coolest part? He actually breathes flame colored mist that looks like fire. When you bring his marshmallow treat close to his breath it actually toasts it.

Every kid wants a pet monkey. This hilarious toy might be the coolest chimp ever. When you play with him, he’ll listen to voice commands you give him, performing tricks. He’ll roll on the ground on fours laughing, making monkey sounds, and farting. The coolest part? Tell him to dance and he gets up on two legs and shakes his booty. There is no monkey business here.
Love2Learn Elmo

Love2learn Elmo might be the smartest Elmo ever. For the first time, parents can customize Elmo, using a free app. Parents can personalize Elmo so he will know your child’s name, favorite colors, favorite animals, and more. He will sing and play games about numbers, letters, shapes, and more. The coolest part? He can even remind children to brush their teeth.
Monopoly Ultimate Banking Game
Ages 8+(Available: Fall 2016)
It’s the classic Monopoly with no cash. The game comes with a tiny ATM that keeps track of everything. It can scan all of the properties and chance cards by reading the special bar code on them. Simply scan your credit card and the property card and it works just like a real credit card. Who uses cash anyway?
Actev Motors Arrow Smart Kart

Forget Power Wheels! This is the go-kart that every kid wants. It’s like a souped up F1 racer for kids. This thing zooms around the backyard up to 12 MPH. The coolest part? It has built in WI FI that allows parents to lower the top speed and even designate where kids can drive. It’s even got GPS and collision avoidance. Where is the adult model?
Transformers Generations Fortress Maximus
Ages 8+(Available: Fall 2016)
Nothing has us more excited than this giant 2 foot tall Fortress Maximus. Big and blue, he’s even bigger than the Combiners Wars Devastator. We nearly squealed when we saw him. When you transform him, he’ll become an Autobot city. He’s a massive addition to anyone’s collection of Transformers.
Nerf Rebelle Platinum Bow

Holy heck is this bow big and powerful. Katniss fans will love the new Nerf Rebelle Platinum Bow. It’s the largest Nerf Rebelle bow. A bigger bow needs bigger arrows. With the grip of an archer, you can feel the power as the bow fires arrows up to 100 feet away.
My Little Pony Guardians Of Harmony Big Dragon Spike

The best My Little Pony toy isn’t exactly a pony. It’s a dragon. With glowing eyes, he looks pretty awesome. The Ponies are going to love riding on him as he launches projectiles out of his mouth. This dragon is all about action.
My Little Pony Guardians Of Harmony Line

The new Guardians Of Harmony My Little Pony line puts the action in My Little Pony. We are finally getting a line of articulated Pony figures. It includes all of the most popular Pony characters with weapons and armor. We have never seen this side of Ponies.
Disney Elena Of Avalor Doll
Ages 3+(Available: Fall 2016)
Based on the new Disney Cartoon, Elena of Avalor, Disney and Hasbro will bring out its first Latin American princess doll. Hasbro will release a beautiful line of dolls and accessories to go with the new show, allowing kids to be part of the magical tale.
Razor Ripsurf

What do you get when you mix a skateboard with a surf board? You get the Razor RipSurf. Shaped like a surfboard, it allows teens to shred on the street just like surfing. You simply twist the back and front on the board to push the board forward.
Lionel Mega Tracks
Ages 8+(Available: Fall 2016)
This is no ordinary train track. Lionel has created innovative flexible tracks that can be built in an direction. The tracks use a new type of clamping system. The amazing part? The little futuristic trains cling onto the tracks, defying gravity. Kids will love to create roller coaster like structures or even building the track around them.
Lego Star Wars Freemaker Adventures
Ages 8-14(Available: Fall 2016)
Based on Lego’s new animated TV show on the Disney channel, Lego has created a new line called Lego Star Wars: The Freemaker Adventures. It’s about Lego people who go around the galaxy savaging for parts to build things like this spaceship.
Hexbug Battlebots
Ages 8+(Available: Fall 2016)
Based on the television series Battle Bots, this line of robots features robots from the TV show. Each robot has a weapon that it can use to attack other robots. What could be cooler than robots destroying each other?
Big Robots
Ages 8+(Available: Fall 2016)
There are a ton of robots but how many of them beat each other up. Big robots are so much cooler than Rock Em Sock Up Robots. Kids use a Wii like remote controller to throw punches. Land enough punches and one robot is down for the count.
BB-8 Force Band
Ages 8+(Available: Fall 2016)
Last year BB-8 was one of the most popular toys. Now the force can really be with you with this completely new way to control BB-8. With a wrist band! Simply tilt your hand, like a Jedi, to move BB-8 around.
Air Hogs Connect: Mission Drone
Ages 10+(Available: Fall 2016)
With Air Hogs Connect players fly a real quadcopter in their living room and it interacts with a video game, combining physical and digital play. Players fly the quadcopter over a mat which tracks in position inside the game.
Meccano Meccasaur
Ages 8+(Available: Fall 2016)
Who doesn’t love robot and dinosaurs? This is a buildable robot dinosaur. The coolest part? This huge dinosaur that you build on your can move around your room.
REV A.I.R.
Ages 8+(Available: Fall 2016)
Now kids can battle in the air or on land with this quadcopter and car set. Players can battle with a friend or against the AI. The amazing thing is that the self piloting AI can follow you around in the air or on the ground.
Lumi
Ages 8+(Available: Fall 2016)
This is no ordinary drone. It can follow you around by placing a beacon in your pocket. There’s also a rhythm game where players have to tap the right buttons on the screen. If you get it right, the drone will fly higher. If you get you wrong, the drone will fly lower until it reaches the ground when it is game over.
